Since the launch of the Elan Charitable Giving program in 2022, Elan team members have volunteered side by side with our partners across 12 in-person events totaling 285 hours.
These experiences have not only given our team the opportunity to support local communities, but also to gain valuable insights from our partners about the work they do. Hear from some of our Elan team members about their volunteer journeys and the personal impact it has made.
Christine Tran, VP of Marketing, volunteered with partner Connexus Credit Union at The Neighbors’ Place during National Diaper Need Awareness Week. Together, volunteers assembled 125 potty training kits, sorted and packed 8,000 diapers, and organized the facility.
“As a parent of young children, I can’t imagine not having access to essentials such as diapers and formula for my family. This event was deeply meaningful to me as it’s a privilege to support families in need. This kind of volunteering reminds me of the power of community and connection. I'm proud to be part of a company that not only delivers exceptional service, but also genuinely cares about making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.”
“It was an invaluable experience to give a day of service with our partner, Envision Credit Union, sorting and packaging food for those facing food insecurity. Not only do we get these opportunities to volunteer with our partners, but we’re also afforded hours throughout the year to give back to our own neighbors at home and I think that’s a very special gift,” shared Rebecca Novack, Payments Services Advisor. Novack and four other Elan Credit Card team members spent the day packing 167 bags of protein, 366 bags of sweet potatoes, and 470 boxes of dry goods for Second Harvest of The Big Bend with our credit card partner, Envision Credit Union.
Derek Lunderville, Payments Services Advisor, also supported food insecurity. He helped clean, sterilize, organize, and restock the shelves at one of 360 Communities’ five food shelf locations. Lunderville expressed, “It was such a rewarding experience to lock arms with Think Bank and volunteer at the Rosemount Resource Center through 360 Communities. As a resident of the Rosemount community, The Elan Charitable Giving Program has helped low-income families in my own backyard. I’m forever grateful I was able play a role in helping families that need assistance putting food on their table.”
