Press Release

Junior Achievement Receives Donation on Behalf of USSCO Federal Credit Union

April 21, 2022

The generous $12,500 donation is part of Elan’s Across the Country Charitable Giving Program and will serve 3,500 students in Cambria County this school year.

USSCO Federal Credit Union announced it has been selected as one of Elan’s 50 credit union partners to participate in Elan’s Across the Country Charitable Giving program. As one of 50 randomly selected partners, we were able to choose a local charity to receive a generous $12,500 donation on our behalf.

At USSCO Federal Credit Union, we are delighted to share that we have selected Junior Achievement of Western PA (JA) as our charity beneficiary. USSCO’s President & CEO Todd Cover added, “JA does such important work partnering with education and business leaders to help our young people get the skills they need to succeed in life. We were thrilled to be chosen to participate in Elan’s program and support JA. With charitable giving down because of the challenges of the last few years, we are blessed to be part of bringing such a sizable donation to our community.”

Nicki Sliko, JA’s Director of Programs, stated, “Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania has long known that success begins in the classroom, introducing students from kindergarten all the way up to 12th grade to the importance of money management, workforce development, and entrepreneurship. Thanks to the generosity of Elan and USSCO Federal Credit Union, JA has been able to serve over 3,500 students in Cambria County this school year, helping to strengthen our community and economy for generations to come.”

Elan’s Senior Vice President John Owens added, “It’s incredible to see the impact of this donation benefit so many students in Cambria County. Building confidence in areas such as personal finance and entrepreneurship are lifelong skills, and we’re happy to be able to contribute to the next generation in such a meaningful way.”
