Elan Credit Card and Matadors Community Credit Union began their partnership in 2009. Over the last 14 years, Elan has provided Matadors’ 20,000+ members with credit card products, the latest technology, and support.

Enjoy this brief Q&A with Melissa Broadwell, President and Chief Executive Officer of Matadors’, and Elan Account Executive, Ashley Voorhies, for a glimpse into the partnership beyond the program launch.

What do you like most about your role helping credit unions manage their Elan Credit Card program?
AV: Having both the ability to make a direct impact by helping my partners manage their program and indirectly by helping their members get the best credit card products to meet their needs.

What is the most valuable thing an Account Executive (AE) can bring to the AE/partner relationship?
AV: To me, there are three valuable things an account executive can bring to a partner relationship: positivity, credit card expertise, and program best practices.

How has your Elan account executive been able to support you, your credit union, and your members?
MB: Matadors’ account executives have been very helpful on the rare times we’ve had to escalate cardmember issues. I’ve also appreciated how helpful the team has been when I’ve needed extra creative support editing marketing campaign pieces. This has made it easier for us to use email templates for eblasts and utilize the digital display assets to help meet our members needs and grow our program.

What is something that has surprised you about the Elan Credit Card program?
MB: One thing that has surprised me is the robust product offering for consumers and business owners. The inclusive offering helps members at all credit levels obtain a credit card that meets their personal or business needs.

“The inclusive [product] offering helps members at all credit levels obtain a credit card that meets their personal or business needs.”

Melissa Broadwell, Matadors Community Credit Union President and CEO

How has the program changed Matadors’ relationship with members?
MB: Our partnership with Elan Credit Card allows us to offer a variety of credit card products that we would not otherwise be able to offer to our members.
